When the "Star Spangled Banner" was performed at Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, President Donald Trump stood and saluted.
And people LOVED it.
From Fox News, "President Donald Trump was spotted in a salute during the national anthem performance by Jon Batiste before Super Bowl LIX kicked off on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans."
"Trump was shown in the stadium, and a raucous cheer was heard during the FOX broadcast from the crowd who saw him," noted the report. "Trump was standing in between New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson and Trump's daughter, Ivanka, during the national, which also received a loud roar from the crowd before kickoff. "
Trump said in a statement prior to the game, "I look forward to joining the fans in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX to cheer on two great teams – the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles – as they battle for the National Football League’s Vince Lombardi Trophy."
Trump was also the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl.
But that salute by the Commander-In-Chief...
People went wild!
Love it.
Amazing!
We're back!
Some leftists attacked Trump for his salute.
But they were dead wrong. He's the COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF.
Nor is he the only president to salute.
An explainer:
Well deserved.
There isn't a bigger non-political American annual event than the Super Bowl.
THIS American president is now the first to attend.
Saluting the national anthem, enjoying the most grandiose game in sports, a presidential show of a better unity for the country...
(Also: Deporting criminal aliens, gutting USAID, appointing real reformers and disrupters, targeting the Department of Education... it hasn't even been a month!)
America really is back.
