President-Elect Trump Calls New Orleans Terrorist Carrying ISIS Flag ‘Pure Evil’

Creative Commons

Just a few hours into 2025, a driver plowed through a crowd of people in New Orleans, killing at least 14 and injuring over 30 others.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, a natural born citizen of Texas who served in the military, drove a truck into crowd of pedestrians while carrying an ISIS flag.

This terrorist attack happened at about 3:17 a.m. at the intersection of Bourbon and Canal streets.

The suspect is dead.

On Wednesday, the FBI released a statement confirming the identify of the suspect. They also confirmed that Jabbar was found with weapons, including an improvised explosive device.

In addition to Jabbar having an ISIS flag.

The FBI also said that other explosive devices were found around the French Quarter.

New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said at a press conference, “It was a very intentional behavior. This man was trying to run over as many people as he possibly could. It was not a DUI [Driving Under the Influence] situation."

She added that the suspect was “hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did."

Fox News reported that the truck used by Jabbar, which has a Texas license plate, was tracked crossing into the U.S. at the southern border two days prior to the attack.

President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on the violence on Truth Social.

“Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department," Trump wrote. "The Trump Administration will fully support the City of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil!”

He then targeted Democrats and their media accomplices for downplaying the problems the U.S. has with its broken southern border, particularly those related to crime.

“When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true," Trump said.

He added, "The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before."

Americans elected Donald Trump in November due in part to rising crime and our failed national security on our borders.

We still have three weeks until the inauguration.

May we find our country in a better and safer place when we ring in 2026.
