President Joe Biden and his administration promised over and over again that he would not pardon his son, Hunter Biden, in any fashion.
On December 1, the president pardoned his son. And not merely a standard pardon, but a blanket one, forgiving any crime he might have committed going all the way back to 2014.
Now, a new poll conducted by the Associated Press, only about two in ten Americans support this decision.
That's LOW...
The AP’s new poll showed that only 22 percent of Americans approved of the pardon, with 51 percent of respondents disapproving of the president’s decision.
Those are general numbers.
Broken down by party, 38 percent of Democrats approved of the pardon, followed by 12 percent of Independent voters, and 7 percent of Republicans.
The AP noted, "The poll found that about 4 in 10 Democrats approve of the pardon, while about 3 in 10 disapprove and about one-quarter did not have an opinion or did not know enough to say. The vast majority of Republicans and about half of independents had a negative opinion."
Republican Peter Prestia of New Jersey, who is 59 years old, told AP, “I know it’s not right to believe politicians as far as what they say compared to what they do, but he did explicitly say, ‘I will not pardon my son.'"
“So, it’s just the fact that he went back on his word," Prestia explained.
Pardoning Hunter Biden all the way back to 2014 covers his time on the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, a relationship to which many questions have been raised, particularly about influence peddling and speculation that the president might have even been involved.
Hunter Biden is a convicted on federal gun and tax crimes committed in Delaware and California.
Pardoning a son or any other family member might be understandable, but not after a president has said so many times that he wouldn't.
That blatant lying has seemed to be what rubs so many the wrong way.
Joe Biden said his son has done nothing wrong or criminal. Now we will never know if that's actually true or not.
Because when you are a Biden, apparently, you are above the law.
