Polls across the country show Donald Trump leading Joe Biden in the presidential race.
And those polls are BEFORE the failed assassination attempt on Trump's life.
Including this one: According to a new VCU/Wilder poll in the state of Virginia, Trump has 39 percent support compared to Biden's 36 percent.
Biden beat Trump by over 10 percent in 2020.
But now Trump is up three points over Biden. Again, in a poll taken before the shooting.
The last Republican presidential candidate to win in Virginia was George W. Bush in 2004.
Twenty years ago.
Not John McCain. Not Mitt Romney. Not until now with Trump, has a Republican led the Democrat.
That's a big deal.
Even when Trump won in 2016, Democrat Hillary Clinton won Virginia be nearly five points.
In a Roanoke College poll in May, Trump and Biden were tied at 42 percent.
But that was before the presidential debate that Biden did so poorly in. It was long before the assassination attempt. The VCU/Wilder poll was taken from from June 24 to July 3 with a margin of error of 4.8 percentage points.
It will be interesting to see what the next round of polls taken after that terrifying incident look like.
Because things were already looking up for Donald Trump. Now, is he unstoppable?
