Kamala Harris is from California
But she pretended she wasn't at her recent Georgia rally. She pretended she was a Southern.
It was laughable.
"You all helped us win in 2020 and we gonna do it again in 2024," Harris told an Atlanta crowd.
It's not what she said, but how she said it.
Outkick founder Clay Travis wrote,"Kamala Harris went to speak in Atlanta and now has a Southern accent."
"Why do people do this? It’s just so transparently fake," he added.
"Do people do this with any other regional accents?" Travis said in a follow up post. "I don’t think so. No one goes to Massachusetts and suddenly talks like a Kennedy. It’s only the South."
Harris' attempt at a Southern accent brought Hillary Clinton doing the same thing to mind.
Conservative columnist Ian Haworth said Harris's fake Southern accent was worse than Clinton's.
"Kamala Harris’s fake Southern accent puts Hillary Clinton to shame," Haworth wrote.
Harris is riding high right now after the Democratic party decided to replace Biden with her without any sort of democratic process.
Fox News reports of Harris' phony Southern moment, "The viral moment comes as Harris continues to try her footing on the trail after being elevated to the top of the Democratic ticket last week, with Georgia being one of the key swing states likely to decide November’s election."
"Former President Trump won the state by just over five percentage points in 2016, only to have President Biden narrowly flip it to his column by less than one percentage point in 2020," Fox News noted." The state figures to be one of the closest races again in 2024, with the Real Clear Politics polling average showing Trump with a narrow 3.6 point lead over Harris on Wednesday."
We're three months out from election day. Kamala Harris's entry into the race introduces a new dynamic.
So does her level of phoniness. Faking a Southern accent is not a good look and doesn't win elections. Just ask Hillary.
Here's to hoping Kamala Harris keeps up her phoniness all the way to November.
