After the death of George Floyd during a police confrontation in Minneapolis in 2020, Black Lives Matter riots erupted throughout the city and country.
Violence and looting happened far and wide across the country, but Minneapolis, Minnesota remained ground zero for the rioting.
And that state's governor, Tim Walz - now Kamala Harris's choice for vice president - did nothing.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey blamed Walz for failing to respond to the rioting, "In an interview Monday, Frey said that Walz hesitated to send in the National Guard to quell the growing violence and then blamed him for allowing the city to burn..."
"Frey said he immediately telephoned Walz, at 6:29 p.m., relayed information, and asked him to send in the National Guard," the report noted. “We expressed the seriousness of the situation. The urgency was clear."
“He did not say yes,” Frey said of Governor Walz. “He said he would consider it.”
Minneapolis was burning to the ground and all the governor could say is he would "consider" doing something about it.
That's Kamala's choice for second in command.
Wow.
Think about that when you consider the recent violent pro-Palestine protests that did so much vandalism and destruction in Washington, DC just a few weeks ago.
Minnesota State Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka recalled Walz's absolute failure on the BLM riots in Minneapolis four years ago.
"Tim Walz is the VP candidate," Gazelka wrote on X. "As GOP MN Senate Leader during the MPLS riots, I can tell you Walz is not a strong decisive leader. When he does finally make a decision, it is often wrong."
Walz's own wife could smell "burning tires" as the riots persisted and her husband did nothing.
So there you have it: The Democrats have selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as their choice for vice president. Someone who, if elected, is one step away from the presidency.
No matter how you cut it, in these times of continuous unrest, this is BAD.
