Senate Democrats Plan for More Masking and Misery

Updated: Sep 8, 2023

Senator J.D. Vance from Ohio took to the Senate floor to ban federal mask mandates for domestic air travel, public transit systems, primary, secondary, and post-secondary schools until December 31, 2024 with his bill, "Freedom to Breathe Act." It's worth noting that this wouldn't ban masks - if you want to wear a mask you can - it simply bans the government from forcing people to comply with the medical tyranny like we've experienced thus far with the Covid-19 saga.

Vance requested unanimous consent - meaning that the bill would pass unless a Senator objected to it. At the very least, Vance forced Democrats to level with the people - any floor objection to Vance’s unanimous consent request would amount to a clear admission that Democrats intend to reimpose mask mandates in the near term. The bill just needed one objection to die… and it got it with Democrat Senator Edward Markey from Massachusetts.

The fight isn't over on this, but it's important to recognize what's been coming down the pipe in terms of Democrats restarting their petty, tyrannical Covid mandates. Some companies in California, schools in Maryland, and other areas are already reimplementing mask mandates. Vance said, "if mandatory masking were going to save our citizens it would have already done so."

Markey's objection is about as illogical as you might expect. Speaking about Vance, he said,

"you argue that this bill is about freedom, but it's not. Freedom is parents and students knowing their school can take every step possible to keep them from getting sick... Freedom is knowing that the plane, train, or classroom is safe. Freedom is knowing that when you travel to work or to visit families over the holidays, they'll know that every safety measure is available to them to keep them and their families safe..."

It's worth asking, does Markey know what freedom is? He seems to think that freedom is the government having control. In Vance's bill, "Freedom to Breathe Act," freedom is leaving medical choices up to the individual. What happened to "my body, my choice?" The Left has lost their minds... and they can't even take a deep breath to get it back.
