On Thursday, President Trump's choice for Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, and his pick to head the FBI, Kash Patel, had simultaneous confirmation hearings.
Just like Robert F. Kennedy's confirmation hearing that began the day prior, Gabbard and Patel were asked some of the dumbest questions imaginable, and treated in the most childish ways.
But strong conservative members and voices had their back.
So, of course, this lit social media up.
Sen. Mike Lee was on fire, urging the confirmation of both.
Patel told Sen. Ted Cruz he would stop illegal alien terrorists from breaking into the country, something Cruz eagerly shared on X.
Rep. Chip Roy explained why Gabbard is a real threat to the system.
Mike Lee still wasn't letting up. He said that every FBI director nominee before Patel was a liar.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn wants the FBI's help in obtaining and revealing the client list of the late, wealthy child molester, Jeffrey Epstein.
Patel agreed to help: "Absolutely."
Sen. Thom Tillis mocked Democrats and their buzzwords, in this clip that was shared by Vice President JD Vance.
Gabbard let the committee know that she refuses to be their "puppet."
But the best burn of the day might have came from RFK Jr., on his second day of confirmation hearings, for calling out Sen. Bernie Sanders for taking contributions from Big Pharma!
Elon Musk said it was fire.
There are too many moments between Trump's nominees, who are controversial in Washington precisely because the president chose them to challenge and change Washington.
So of course the members of these committees are going to throw up every roadblock they can.
But Sen. Lee and other conservatives are right: President Donald Trump's nominees need to be confirmed.
He won, after all.
