When Kansas City Chiefs star kicker Harrison Butker gave the commencement address at Benedictine College on Saturday, he did something really unusual...
He expressed his traditional values, as a Catholic, at a Catholic college.
How crazy is that?
Butker criticized President Biden for saying you can be pro-abortion and Catholic. He talked about the dangers of wokeness and LGBT extremism like the transgender agenda. The NFL star even said that the women graduating in the audience will have successful careers but most might be looking forward to becoming wives and mothers as much if not more.
So naturally, a Left mob emerged to cancel Butker.
Change.org now features a petition demanding that the Kansas City Chiefs fire Butker for sharing what they call a "dehumanizing" message.
In other words, a Catholic message. There's even a stupid little banner in the left hand corner of their video that reads "Warning: hate speech."
As of this writing, the petition has about 133,750 signatures.
But to hell with them. We have our own petition. A counter petition.
For now, the NFL has only put out a statement, clarifying that Butker's words were his and his alone as far as they're concerned.
But also about how "inclusive" the NFL is.
"Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity. His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger,' the league's chief diversity and inclusion officer, Jonathan Beane, said.
Whatever. The worst part of this has to be what the Kansas City Twitter/X account sent out in the wake of this madness.
It's been removed but trying to encourage people to find his home?
These people are sick. Some might even say dehumanizing.
You shouldn't have to cower or self-censor as a Christian in America.
Whether you're Harrison Butker or anyone else.
