Border Patrol Chief: Our Morale is 'Going Through the Roof' Under President Trump

President Donald Trump promised to do something about America's serious illegal immigration problem and has, with illegal border crossings dropping to their lowest in decades.
But something else has been on the rise: The morale of U.S. Border Patrol.
According to U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks, it's actually "going through the roof."
Banks told Fox News in an interview on Wednesday that, "We've had the handcuffs taken off" and "we're allowed to actually do our job, which is go out and enforce the law."
He continued, "Under this administration, they have literally taken the handcuffs off and allowed us to enforce law instead of policies that were created to contradict the law and so our morale has continued to rise."
Something else is also rising, according to Banks.
Border Patrol recruitment.
Banks told Fox News that recruiting is "looking great" and that they were "seeing some of our highest numbers ever."
He contrasted how significantly different the Border Patrol is under Trump compared to Joe Biden.
Chief Banks explained, "Really excited about that because as you know, during the previous four years under the Biden administration, we saw a mass exodus from the Border Patrol and we saw some of our lowest recruiting numbers.".
And now? "We're seeing the opposite," he said.
"We're seeing agents pull retirement paperwork in order to continue staying in and serve, and we're seeing our recruiting numbers go through the roof," Banks added.
Talk about enthusiasm.
It turns out Trump was right about how to fix the U.S.'s broken borders.
We just needed a new president.
It's almost as if Biden should have listened to the actual Border Patrol instead of the many useless advisers he had.
Or as Sen. Ted Cruz put it:
Many were glad to see such a reinvigorated Border Patrol.
President Trump was one of them.
The border has never been more secure and the agents couldn't be happier.
This news really is huge. What an improvement. Every American should know about this.
Border Czar Tom Homan (remember when Kamala Harris pretended to be this?) said basically the same thing as Chief Banks last month.
Banks also touted the Border Patrols apprehension success, noting that in Eagle Pass, Texas, that area "was seeing an average of three to four thousand (apprehensions) a day."
"Was" being the operative word."
But now, he added, "Right now, Eagle Pass, Texas is seeing an average of 18 apprehensions a day and very few gotaways, little to none. Some days zero gotaways."
Now that's impressive.
The United States Border Patrol needs to keep doing what it's doing because it's obviously working.
Thankfully we now have a president that will allow these men and women to actually do their job.
And be happy in doing it.
