During his standup show Saturday night, comedian Bill Maher said that it “doesn’t matter” who the Democratic Party runs as their presidential candidate after the failed assassination of Donald Trump.

Heavily implying that presumptive Republican presidential nominee was now taking this thing.

While holding a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, Trump's ear was grazed by a bullet. After dropping down with Secret Service rushing to protect him, Trump eventually stood up, blood streaming down his face, to pump his fist for a crowd happy to see him alive.

Trump continued to pump his fist as the Secret Service escorted him to a waiting SUV.

Maher condemned the violence, said he as glad the former president was okay and called Trump "the luckiest mother****** on earth."

“I so unequivocally denounced. I don’t care what you think about that,” Maher said. “Not funny.”

“I’m sure that there will be jokes that people will make because they hate him so much about they wished it went, you know, the way — not from me. Not from me,” he continued.

Maher said that the shooter, who has since been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, “has done so much damage to the Left.”

The HBO host said that Democrats “lost a lot of moral high ground” regarding political violence.

“You know, liberals don’t shoot people," he insisted. "Liberals don’t solve it that way."

“He’s the luckiest mother****** that has ever walked the face of the Earth,” Maher said of Trump. “And again, I’m happy he’s okay.”

Then Maher started acting as if Trump had this election in the bag after this event.

“I don’t want to say the election is over, but… ” Maher began as the audience laughed “Anything can happen in an election, but Jesus Christ.”

“Yes, MAGA nation finally has its full martyr,” Maher said. “They loved it when he went to jail. The mugshot. I gotta say, he’s insane and he’s a criminal, but that mugshot? F***ing nailed it. Perfect.”

He was referring to Trump's 2023 mugshot photo taken be the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

That photo of Trump quickly became iconic.

Maher said of Trump and what happened in Butler, that he “played this scene like he rehearsed it.”

But he quickly followed up by saying that those on the Left who believe Trump somehow staged this were “idiots” and “conspiracy theorists.”

Maher then compared Trump and Biden.

“He gets grazed and the other guy gets shot? It’s so Trump,” Maher said. “I can see the memes now! The man the lib-tards couldn’t kill. Biden can’t get through a debate and a bullet can’t stop Donald Trump!”

“I mean, it almost doesn’t matter who the Democrats put up now,” Maher remarked.

That could be true. November will tell.
