Virginia’s Pro-Abort Politicians Meet The Pro-Life Resistance

Virginia Democratic Delegate Kathy Tran introduced a bill that would allow an abortion to take place through the end of the third trimester, right up until the moment a woman gives birth, ostensibly to protect the mother’s health.

Let’s be clear: Third trimester means 40 weeks. Tran herself even says “40 weeks.” This means due date time. We are talking about a fully formed baby whose life could be snuffed out.

Tran has unequivocally admitted this is what she is pushing for in her co-sponsored bill. A video of her admitting her bill allows for infanticide went viral because it rightly shocked anyone who listened to the unbelievable words that came out of her mouth.

In one day, ForAmerica’s Facebook video of the exchange has garnered almost two million views and tens of thousands of shares:

After Democratic Virginia Governor Ralph Northam was asked in a radio interview Wednesday morning whether he supports Tran’s bill, he gave a meandering, nonsensical answer that basically gave a pass to killing tiny human beings.

“The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired,” Northam said.

Everyday citizens and political leaders have erupted on social media against both Tran and Northam, which the Washington Post patronizingly describe as conservatives “pouncing.”

House Freedom Caucus Chair Mark Meadows said, “If you’re an even moderately pro-life activist in Virginia, or anywhere in the country, this should get you off your couch. Stomach turning.”

Newly elected Republican Congressman Denver Riggleman of Virginia tweeted, “I firmly denounce H.B. 2491 (“The Repeal Act”), which would repeal restrictions on third trimester abortions.  This bill is a blatant and unacceptable attack on human life and I hope the Virginia House of Delegates will vote against this bill.”

“First New York, and now a proposed Virginia bill that would legalize abortion up to the moment of birth…” said Kentucky’s Republican Governor Matt Bevin. “This is a sad commentary on the culture of death that continues to creep insidiously into the laws of our county…”

The President’s son, Donald Trump Jr., a father of five, pulled no punches in calling the bill out for what it truly is.

“This is insanity. Seems like advocating for Post Term Abortion AKA MURDER by any standard I’m aware of,” Trump Jr. tweeted. “The only thing worse than what the Democrat Governor of VA said was the fact that there’s zero pushback from the host,” Trump Jr. said, targeting Gov. Northram and his interviewer who didn’t even follow up on what sounded like excusing the killing of children.

Benjamin Watson, NFL tight end for the New Orleans Saints, piled on Gov. Northam — in the face of a league that would just prefer him to “stick to football.”

Others pointed out that President Trump warned about Democrats’ obsession over late-term abortion before he was even elected:

As for ForAmerica, we’re going to keep bringing the heat against Gov. Northam and Del. Tran, and all elected officials who peddle the abortion lobby’s disgusting agenda.

Thousands of our supporters have weighed in on social media, and they are furious.

This is not some overreaction by the right, as liberals were quick to portray. Rational, reasonable, and sensible people are outraged that a lawmaker would try to push for abortion at any time, let alone as a woman gives birth to a full-term baby, and that a governor (a doctor himself!) would attempt to normalize the policy.

Those who are not outraged need to examine their conscience.

There’s a reason Tran was so hesitant to answer the questions asked of her in the video that went viral. She knew how barbaric it sounded.

Virginia’s House Majority Leader Todd Gilbert asked Tran, “Where it’s obvious that a woman is about to give birth… she has physical signs that she is about to give birth would that still be a point at which she could request an abortion if she was so certified? If she’s dilating?”

“Mr. Chairman, that would be a decision that the doctor, the physician, and the woman would make at that point,” Tran responded, clumsily.

“I understand that,” Gilbert said. “I’m asking if your bill allows that.”

“My bill would allow that, yes,” she said.

There’s no misunderstanding what Tran said. As President Trump told the Daily Caller Wednesday, “I thought it was terrible. Do you remember when I said Hillary Clinton was willing to rip the baby out of the womb? That’s what it is, that’s what they’re doing, it’s terrible.”

This will “lift up the whole pro-life movement like maybe it’s never been lifted up before,” the president added.

Let’s hope he’s right.

As I write this, ForAmerica is encouraging its Virginia supporters to attend Del. Tran’s town hall this Saturday and make their voices heard.

And while Virginia’s bill will thankfully not move forward, there are still national implications. Most 2020 Democratic presidential contenders support an abortion bill just like it.

Democrats who claim to care about children caught up in the illegal immigration debate, now call for the slaughter of children just seconds from leaving the womb.

It is a part of their agenda.

The abortion lobby now pleads for infanticide in plain sight. They and elected officials like Kathy Tran, who do their bidding, must be stopped.
