L. Brent Bozell Blasts “Crony Republicans” Supporting the Internet Sales Tax
(RESTON, VA) – As House Republicans consider attaching legislation to an omnibus that would allow states to collect sales tax from remote online retailers, ForAmerica Chairman L. Brent Bozell released the following statement:
“Republicans are losing in districts they won in landslides two years ago. Republicans are supposed to be the party to loosen government’s grip on small businesses trying to compete in the free market. Increasingly voters are seeing no difference between the two parties. If Republicans go with internet sales tax, we predict that beyond a shadow of a doubt they will lose their majority in November. This will be the last straw.
“Republicans were entrusted with full control of the government by the voters who elected them. House Republicans who support internet sales tax are making one truth painfully clear to their constituents and base: their intention is not to serve them, but to serve the cronyism and Swamp in Washington. Voters will not forgive these crony Republicans come November.”
The New York Times called ForAmerica “One of the great unexpected influences of the [2016 Presidential] election.”
