ForAmerica: President Trump Is Keeping His Promise to Uphold Religious Freedom
For too long, Washington has had the audacity to dictate to Christians and people of faith how they may, or may not, live according to their faith.
CLIFTON, VA – October 6, 2017 — Following the Trump administration’s new exemptions to the HHS contraceptive mandate on Friday, giving relief to religious non-profits and others with moral convictions regarding contraception, David Bozell, President of ForAmerica released the following statement:
“The Trump administration, through this new exemption, has sent a clear signal to the country that they are restoring religious freedom to its rightful owner – the American people. For too long, Washington has had the audacity to dictate to Christians and people of faith how they may, or may not, live according to their faith. We do not live in communist China or North Korea. Christians — or any one of any other faith — hold truths to be sacred and cannot be compelled by the state to violate them.
“Unfortunately, anti-Christian bigotry, whether from the state or corporate America, still persists in various forms. Thankfully, however, we have a president who does not want our nation’s religious liberty to erode on his watch. We applaud President Trump for keeping his promise with voters to uphold religious freedom in America.”
The New York Times called ForAmerica “One of the great unexpected influences of the [2016 Presidential] election.”
