ForAmerica released the following statement in response to
“History tells us that when Congress doesn’t disclose the cost of a bill, American taxpayers can expect an expensive price tag. We’re supportive of a number of things that the American Healthcare Act wants to do and wants to eliminate, but it is impossible to judge it without knowing its costs,” said David Bozell, president of ForAmerica.
“This bill reads like it will cost a gazillion dollars. A member of Congress’ chief job responsibility is to be a good steward of taxpayer money. We fail to see how any member could vote for this bill — or any bill — without knowing the bill’s costs. The burden on the American taxpayer must be disclosed to the public in a transparent way, as Republicans promised. Then and only then, can Congress think about voting on this legislation,” continued Bozell.
Three days after the 2016 Presidential election, the New York Times reported that “one of the great unexpected influences on the election was…ForAmerica.”
